1960年にマイルス・デイヴィスのバンドから独立したジョン・コルトレーンが翌年にアトランティックから発表したアルバム。ミュージカル「サウンド・オブ・ミュージック」の挿入歌「My Favorite Things」(映画は4年後に公開)は生涯にわたりコルトレーンの定番曲 となった。
