リバーサイドから1959年にリリースされたウィントン・ケリーの代表作。マイルス・バンドで共演したポール・チェンバース、ジミー・コブによるピアノ・トリオとゲスト参加のナット・アダレイ、ボビー・ジャスパー、ベニー・ゴルソンの3管を加えたセクステットで構成、表題曲「Kelly Blue」他、「朝日のようにさわやかに」「柳よ泣いておくれ」等のスタンダード・ナンバーを収録した人気盤。
